Coma-Stricken Bee Gees Star Robin Gibb Shows 'Flicker Of Life
LONDON -- Stricken Bee Gee Robin Gibb was showing "flickers of life" in his brave battle to pull out of a coma. A source close to the 62-year-old music legend, who slipped into unconsciousness last week, told The Sun there had been signs of him recovering Thursday night. Loved ones have been playing music to try to stimulate a response and elder brother Barry Gibb even sang to him on a visit to his bedside. The source said, "There were flickers of life from Robin. His eyes moved and there was an attempt at speech." He added, "It was a good sign he is fighting hard for his life but he is certainly not out of the woods yet. The family have to remain very cautious." Robin Gibb's wife Dwina and children Melissa, Spencer and RJ have been keeping vigil at his bedside at a private hospital in Chelsea, West London. Barry Gibb, 65, has flown over from the US with wife Linda and son Stephen. Dwina Gibb said, "Barry was singing to him. Thousands of people are saying prayers every day."! Robin Gibb, who sold 200 million records in a career spanning 45 years with the Bee Gees, developed pneumonia as he fought

Relax and Enjoy: Flamingos @ San Diego Zoo (1920 x 1080 60p)
Flamingos " Range: Africa, Asia, North America, Central America, South America, and Europe Habitat: large, shallow lakes or lagoons. Lakes may be far inland or near the sea or even connected to it. Think pinkâ€"and orange? With their bright feathers and strongly hooked bills, flamingos are among the most easily recognized waterbirds. Their pink or reddish color comes from the rich sources of carotenoid pigments (like the pigments of carrots) in the algae and small crustaceans that the birds eat. The Caribbean flamingos Phoenicopterus ruber ruber are the brightest, showing their true colors of red, pink, or orange on their legs, bills, and faces. Food for thought Long legs let flamingos wade into deeper water than most other birds to look for food. And speaking of food, the flamingo also has very distinctive eating habits. The bill is held upside down in the water. The flamingo feeds by sucking water and mud in at the front of its bill and then pumping it out again at the sid! es. Here, briny plates called lamellae act like tiny filters, trapping shrimp and other small water creatures for the flamingo to eat. The smaller puna Phoenicopparrus jamesi, Andean Phoenicopparrus andinus, and lesser flamingos Phoeniconaias minor have deeper bills and stiff lamellae. This helps them filter very fine particles, such as algae, through their bill and keep bigger particles out. Caribbean, greater Phoenicopterus ruber, and Chilean flamingos Phoenicopterus chilensis are larger and feed ...

2000 - Little Guitars : A Tribute to Van Halen / 1981 - Fair Warning / Released : April 29, 1981 / Recorded : Early March - Early April 1981 / Label : Warner Bros. / Producer : Ted Templeman / Fair Warning is the fourth studio album by American hard rock band Van Halen. Released in 1981, it sold more than two million copies, but was still the band's slowest-selling album of the David Lee Roth era. Despite the album's commercially disappointing sales, Fair Warning was met with mostly positive reviews from critics. The cover artwork features a detail from "The Maze", a painting by the Canadian artist William Kurelek which depicts his tortured youth. The album was listed by Esquire as one of the 75 Albums Every Man Should Own."Unchained" is a song from Van Halen's fourth album, Fair Warning. Guitarist Eddie Van Halen wrote the main riff at 4:00 in the morning with engineer Donn Landee while they were doing some overdubbing on the album. The song features prominent use of the MXR M! -117 flanger, which became a popular sound. A preset for the flanger setting was included on the EVH Flanger MXR. It uses a drop-C♯ tuning with suspended fourth chords interspersed. The song is also notable for being producer Ted Templeman's only vocal contribution to the band when he says "Come on, Dave, gimme a break!" during the interlude of the song. One theory is that he thought David Lee Roth was getting too obnoxious and he jumped in. The band liked the way it sounded and kept it in the song ...
